ALYSSA ROSS has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Natalie VanderVorst of the Science Department. Alyssa is a freshman and the daughter of Dave and Anne Ross of Litchfield. Alyssa was chosen for this honor based upon her academic achievements in science, but especially her willingness to question and experiment. She has an open mind that looks at all angles of a problem, and is not discouraged by setbacks. Alyssa is an excellent student who is destined to be a life-long learner. LHS “Students of the Week” – December 20

KULLIN MOYER has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by C Banks of the Art Department. Kullin is a senior and the son of Don and Michelle Moyer of Forest City. Kullin has a high level of interest and unique approaches in the arena of visual arts. He has been a pleasure to work with this year. Kullin is manager of varsity football and the boys basketball team. Congratulations Kullin!

ALICIA WENDLER has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Mrs. Goraczkowski. Alicia is a sophomore and the daughter of Robert Wendler of Dassel. Alicia has shown tremendous growth in taking personal responsibility for her learning, ability to persevere with difficult tasks, and keep a spirit of cooperativeness and optimism when challenged at school. She has shown herself that she can achieve at a consistent level. Alicia enjoys non-traditional hobbies, working on engines and welding. Congratulations Alicia!

EV-W “Student of the Week” – December 15

DYANI ACOSTA has been chosen as this weeks “Student of the Week”. Dyani is a senior and the daughter of Raul and Segrario. Dyani admires her brother for the positive role modeling, lessons in life, and keeping her grounded. She stays busy accruing numerous college credits in hopes of reducing the skyrocketing increases in college debt. Dyani extracurricular highlights include a State Speech performance, Triple-A recipient, and scoring the game winning goal at a soccer match in the fall. She exercises her leadership skills while she presides over National Honor Society, Student Council and the senior class. She considers herself lucky to have grown up in the rural school community of EV-W because the color of skin or cultures expressed never get in the way and the support is endless. LHS “Students of the Week” – December 13

CADE MARQUARDT has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Katie Theis of the Social Studies Department. Cade is a freshman and the son of Scott & Amanda Marquardt of Litchfield. Cade is an all around great student in World Studies. He participates in class discussion, takes pride in his work and asks questions that benefit the whole classroom. Cade always contributes and is kind to his classmates and teacher. He goes above and beyond inside and outside the classroom and always wants to know more about each subject. Cade participates in football, hockey, baseball and band. Congratulations Cade!

ETHAN ANDERSON has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by John Friederichs. Ethan is a junior and the son of Dale and Sue Anderson of Litchfield. Ethan was chosen for this honor based upon his academic improvement during the first quarter of the school year. Ethan participates in the Super Mileage competition. Congratulations Ethan!

BAILEY GUNDERSON has been chosen as this weeks “Student of the Week”. Bailey is a senior and the son of Jeff and Tracy. Bailey is a bright individual who has an instinctive grasp of physics and chemistry. He asks excellent critical-thinking questions far beyond the “nuts and bolts” of typical class questions. Bailey is also a very pleasant person to visit with, as his sense of humor and conversational skills far exceed his age. Bailey’s mature attitude and unique personality promise a bright future ahead. STEVEN ORZOLEK has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Darin Swenson of the Social Studies Department. Steven is a junior and the son of Frank and Terri Orzolek of Darwin. Steven was chosen for this honor based upon his personal drive and work ethic he has demonstrated in class. He recently completed a project resulting in a 3D printed replica of the Hagia Sophia in modern day Istanbul. Steven was able to combine the historical information we were studying at the time with his interest and passion for architecture. He participates in Football, Track, Marching Band, Concert Band and Choir. Congratulations Steven!

KAITLYN GRUBER has been chosen as this weeks “Student of the Week”. Kaitlyn is a senior and the daughter of Gene and Eva. Kaitlyn would like to thank her EV-W graduated peers from last year. Her peers have been great motivators and provided a tremendous positive impact on her goals for this year. Kaitlyn is challenging herself academically and preparing for a bright future in four college level courses. CHEYENNE MUSOLF has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Dan Buker of the Mathematics Department.  Cheyenne is a sophomore and the daughter of Andy and Lori Musolf of Litchfield.  Cheyenne was chosen for this honor based upon her commitment to understand the Geometric concepts. She is willing to get extra help before or after school and demonstrates a strong work ethic.  She conducts herself in a positive and respectful manner during class. RACHEL TURCK has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Rob Cole of the Ag Department. Rachel is a senior and the daughter of Jim and Lisa Turck of Litchfield.  Rachel is always helpful, cheerful, hardworking, gives attention to detail and achieves in her FFA activities.  Rachel participates in Swimming, Choir, FFA, Softball and the Peanut Butter and Milk Festival Committee.  Congratulations Rachel.

LHS “Students of the Week” – November 8

TORY WENDLANDT has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by John Twernbold in the Music Department.  Tory is a senior and the son of Bryce and Mim Wendlandt of Litchfield.  Tory is a talented musician who has honed his drumming ability throughout his years in Litchfield’s percussion class.  In serving on the drumline’s Leadership Team he has helped others develop their percussion skills as well, and served as a role model for younger students.  This fall, Tory led the percussion section of the Pep Band at each football game, energizing the fans. Tory participates in Marching Band, Jazz Band, Fall Musical, Swimming, and Golf.  Congratulations Tory!

LYDIA HOLBENY has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Mr. Ceasar in the Music Department.  Lydia is a sophomore and the daughter of Megan and Karl Holbeny of Litchfield.  Lydia was chosen for this honor based upon her continued dedication to the band program.  Her hard work on her instrument and her desire to help others succeed in their music.  Lydia participates in Marching Band.  Congratulations Lydia!

REESE JANSEN has been chosen as this weeks “Student of the Week”.   Reese is a senior and the son of Tom and Dawn.  Reese would like to commend his parents for their hard work and dedication in raising a family.  He is busy with 7 college courses this year and recommends “take them while they’re free in high school.”  Reese participates in multiple sports and currently leads as the Quarterback of the successful Eagles football team.  He is also a member of the National Honor Society and Knowledge Bowl, and volunteers at numerous youth camps. TESSA GOERISH has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Jo Carlson of the Health Department.  Tessa is a sophomore and the daughter of Tod and Tina Goerish of Darwin.  Tessa is a very active participant in class.  She is always prepared and works hard to complete her work with neat detail and thoroughness.  She always has a smile on her face and treats her classmates with great respect.  Tessa participates basketball.  Congratulations Tessa!

ASHLEY DEJULIANNIE has been chosen as this weeks “Student of the Week”.   Ashley is a senior and the daughter of Mike and Denise.  Ashley would like to commend her father for his dedicated work ethic and role-modeling.  She is busy with college courses in Algebra, Spanish, and Advanced Biology, and also enjoys the challenges of honor role classes.  Ashley participates in DECA, National Honor Society, Student Council, Robotics, Speech, Drama, and Band.  Following graduation, Ashley plans on attending St. Scholastica and pursue a degree in nursing.  Congratulations Ashley!

COLE LAWRENCE has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Natalie VanderVorst in the Science Department.  Cole is a freshman and the son of Brian and Melanie Lawrence of Litchfield.  Cole has the capacity for science and a curious mind and a quick wit that serves him well in class.  He appears to be a lifelong learner, as he knows what is going on in the world around him and can connect it to what he learns in class.  In many ways, Cole embodies the spirit of science.  Cole participates in Band, Football, Drama, FFA and Tennis. LUKE SCHULTZ has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Mrs. Boerema in the English Department.  Luke is a senior and the son of Greg and Nancy Schultz of Litchfield.  Luke has the willingness to persevere in the classroom even though he has had a few challenges along the way.  He takes the initiative regarding his school work, asking good questions and looking for ways to improve.  Luke has made tremendous gains his communication skills, especially his writing.  His desire to do well academically will serve him well in the future.  Luke participates in Student Council and baseball.  Due to recent knee surgery, he will be on the Injury Reserve list for basketball.  Congratulations Luke!

DAVID CULLEN has been selected as one of this week’s “Students of the Week” by Siri Damerow in the Math Department.  David is a senior and the son of Leann Lopez and Tony Bostic of Litchfield.  David has a great work ethic.  He never gives up and has a positive attitude every day and encourages his classmates to have the same.  David participates in wrestling, football and track and field.
