Litchfield School Board Meeting
The Litchfield School Board spent much of last evening discussing the preliminary levy with Business Manager Jesse Johnson. Matt Hammer from Ehlers Public Financial Advisers also provided information.
Hammer went over the referendum revenue information. The Board will consider approving of the maximum amount at the September 25th meeting which can be lowered by the time the final levy is approved in December.
Superintendent Beckie Simenson introduced Litchfield High School Student Council members Adallia Bruning and Ellie Brown who will attend School Board meetings in the coming year as they are able. She also told the Board that the welcome conferences held the first week of school were well-attended with 98-to-99-percent family attendance in the elementary grades and Middle School.
The Litchfield School Board approved of a Head Start agreement with United Community Action Partnership for the 2023-24 school year. In the consent agenda, the Board had a “thank you” to Meeker Cooperative for an $1800 grant which will be used to pay for speaker Terrence Talley who is coming in October to speak to all of the K-12 students.
