The Litchfield Rescue Squad will have an open house during “E-M-S Week” at the Rescue Hall on North Ramsey Avenue in Litchfield on Wednesday, May 24th from 5:30-to-7:30. There will be displays, demonstrations, goody bags for kids, refreshments, door prizes, and a visit by the Life Link 3 helicopter.

Mike Massingham, who’s been on the Rescue Squad for 21-years, says the only reason the helicopter might not be able to make an appearance is if there’s bad weather, or if they’re responding to a call. He says the Rescue Squad members will also be demonstrating their extrication equipment Wednesday evening.

Massingham says the Litchfield Rescue Squad covers a 190 square mile area of Litchfield and its surrounding townships, but a majority of the calls are within Litchfield and they are mostly medical calls. He says the open house helps the Rescue Squad thank the public for its support.
