Forest City Threshers Show
The 35th annual Forest City Threshers Show is coming up this weekend with International Harvester as the featured equipment. The show grounds will be open Saturday and Sunday from 8-to-5 each day.
Dave Jutz says admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under, and there’s a parade of tractors and equipment each day at noon, an antique tractor pull Saturday at 1 p.m., a kid’s pedal pull Sunday at 10:30 a.m., and a garden tractor pull Sunday at 2. He says the Ladies Activity Building is now finished, and they are looking for a switchboard to install in the Depot Building for a telegraph and telephone system.
Jutz says there will be plenty of opportunities to eat during the Threshing Show with taco and hamburger stands, a breakfast each morning from 7:30-to-9:30, a roast beef dinner each day from 11-to-2 and a beer stand. Butch Schulte says there will be threshing demonstrations each day, and he says they are looking for musicians willing to perform during the Threshing Show.
Schulte says the Depot Building is nearing completion and there will be a model train display there; and there’s an impressive tobacco display at the Thresher’s Site with historical information about tobacco growing in Meeker and Stearns Counties. He says they are working on a future display about patents in Meeker County. For more information, go to forestcitythresher.com.
