The Holiday Open House at Emmaus Gift Shop in Litchfield is coming up this weekend. The event is on Friday from 5-to-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9-to-2 at 200 North Holcombe Avenue.

Volunteer Connie Meyer says there will be a 20-percent discount on all merchandise, except for books, candy, greeting cards and embroidered dish towels. She says some of the new items this year include galvanized tin items, watches, pins and gnomes.

Meyer says the gift shop also has napkins, candles, jewelry, lots of books and much more. She says there will be coffee, cider and cookies, and the shop is lit up with 4 decorated trees.

Emmaus Gift Shop volunteer Ruth Massingham says the shop is very lit up with the trees and other decorations.

Massingham says the Emmaus Gift Shop also has baking mixes and accessories for making lefse, krumkake and rosettes. The shop is a non-profit organization which undertakes projects to enhance the facilities for the residents of Ecumen of Litchfield. More volunteers are always welcome. Call 373-6625 for more details.
